Life As We Know It

Have you ever stopped and actually taken in something you do everyday? I know this might sound dumb to most but I actually did this today. As I was getting off the freeway on my way home from school, the same one I take almost everyday, I took a second and looked around me. The trees, the garbage, the man standing on the corner with the sign reading "Have 2 children. Anything will help," and the ugly freeway overpass that blocks the incredible view of the mountains.

(Ok so its not the best picture.. )

Lets start off with the trees. Although it's winter and they aren't near as pretty as they usually are there is still a beauty about them. It's a small section that has survived the torment of man. A small piece of nature that holds strong against what we have molded the world to be. I like to apply this to myself in a way. I am not perfect to the world. The world has molded people into believing they aren't good enough. Well guess what, forget the world. No one is perfect. Not even the models in magazines. Everyone is good enough for something, its just up to us to find what that something is.

Next lets go to the garbage all over. Really people!?! Is it that hard to put your garbage in the trash? I know i'm guilty of littering, who isn't? But the thing is, it's been a problem for a long time now. We need to step our game up. I'm not a "tree hugger" so to say, but wouldn't it be nice to be able to look outside with out seeing garbage everywhere?

Ok on to the man with the sign. I understand that sometimes people get into rough situations, and with this economy i'm surprised we don't see this on every corner, but when you have a sign that says anything will help but you turn down food from someone kind enough to give you a second look you, you deserve to be on the street. If I really needed help that bad, no way I would turn down food. So to all the hobos out there... stop being so selfish. Take what you can get or leave us alone.

Lastly, the freeway overpass. I know nothing can be done about it. It has to be there in order to get where we are going, But as I thought more about it I began to feel claustrophobic.  Trapped in the city with no where to go. With all the things that we are trying to make bigger and better, we are ruining the earth. Is it necessary to demolish every part of nature we can? no. Some of us enjoy being able to get away from the city. Go some where that you can actually hear your own thoughts. It is the best place to be. You can spend all day doing absolutely nothing. Its beautiful.

To wrap this up.
Take advantage of the little moments in your life, pay attention to what is happening around you and do what makes you happy.

My dad always told me I should look around an be observant and whenever I do that I notice so much more than what I usually do. I am a total tree hugger and I wish more people would take a moment to really take in nature and everything! I lava this. also I love your first post. Wish I would have known about your blog earlier so I could have given it instant love but now I will :)
